Maclovia Castaneda Mata

With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Maclovia Mata, who went to her eternal rest on January 1, 2026, in Midland, Texas, at the age of 85.Maclovia was born and raised in El Sauz de Abajo, Durango, Mexico, a place she always carried in her heart. She dedicated her life to building a better future for her children guiding them with hard work, love and unconditional sacrifice. She was a strong, generous woman whose life centered around family.She loved to cook and shared that love through cherished recipes that remain an invaluable legacy for her family, along with countless memories made in the kitchen. She found joy in the beauty of flowers, the smiles of her grandchildren and taking long walks.She is survived by her children: Evangelina Castañeda; Martin Castañeda (Sandy); Inocente Castañeda (Jeanette); Jesse Castañeda (Armida); Ezequiel Mata (Maricela); Claudia Mata, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will continue to honor and cherish her memory and example.

Services will be held as follows:Visitation will take place on Sunday, January 4 from 2:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 5, at 2:00 p.m. at San Miguel Arcangel Catholic Church followed by a burial at Serenity Memorial Gardens Cemetery.Maclovia Mata will live forever in the hearts of those who loved her. Herlegacy of love and family will remain eternal.
