Magelene Sexton Jackson, age 85, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025. She was born on September 14, 1940, the beloved daughter of Hillary Sexton and Lillie Burgens Sexton.
Magelene lived a life marked by quiet strength, devotion, and a heart that was always turned toward her family and her Lord. She enjoyed sewing, tending her rose bushes, and spending time in the kitchen doing what she loved—cooking, baking, and canning. The holidays were especially meaningful to her, a time when her home was filled with the warmth of her cooking and the love of her family. She took great joy in canning the vegetables her husband grew, a labor of love that reflected her nurturing spirit.
Her greatest joy was her family. She was affectionately known as Granny J to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a name that she carried with love, comfort, and cherished memories. Above all else, Magelene lived a life anchored in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She didn’t just read Scripture—she lived it. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and her witness was evident to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Farlin Jackson; her parents; brothers, Clarence Sexton and R.A. Sexton; and sister, Abbie Gail Reed.
