Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always. Condolences and continued prayers. Ms Mamie and my dad were close friends, My dad the late (Dudley Robinson) & Mamie worked together for many years at the City of Beaumont. I remember them coming home at noon on lunch break to watch (All my Children) the soap opera with (Erica Cane). I have fond memories of her.

Mamie's Obituary

Ms. Mamie L. Edwards, 85, of Beaumont, Texas, passed away on Friday, February 20, 2026, in Beaumont, Texas.

Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Edwards will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Gilead Missionary Baptist Church, located at 710 IH-10 East in Beaumont, Texas 77703. A Public Viewing for Mrs. Edwards will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026 from 12:00 Noon until 5:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home Chapel and Visitation on Saturday, March 7, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Church. Entombment Service to follow at Magnolia Cemetery Mausoleum in Beaumont, Texas. For your safety social distancing and facial masks are recommended.

  Mamie's Journey 

 

Mamie Lucille Heard Edwards was born on February 8, 1941 in Kirbyville, Texas  to her mother, the late, Ruth  Standoak (O.D.)Standoak and her father, the late TJ Heard (Bobbie). She was one of four siblings . She attended West Kirbyville High School . She accepted Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior and was baptized at a early age. She attended Sunrise Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Benjamin Breed, where she song in the choir and was a faithful member. Later in her years, she worked at Kirby Plywood  Plant in Silsbee, Texas for many years and moved to Beaumont, Texas, where she also worked at the City of Beaumont and Saint Elizabeth Hospital where she retired. She joined Mount Gilead Baptist Church until her untimely passing. 

She departed her earthly life and entered into her eternal life on Friday, February 20, 2026 in Beaumont, Texas. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

Mamie's memories will forever remain in the hearts of her children,Deborah Augusta, Sandra Lofton (Wifred), Teria Lynn, Benita Edwards (Harold), Pamela Smith (Jimmy), Wesley Booker (Mary) and Dameun Heard (Ashley) all of Beaumont, Texas; sisters, Loretta Heard of Missouri City, Texas and Ellen Standoak of Flint, Michigan; sixteen grandchildren, forty=nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; special cousin Janet Jackson; and bonus daughter, Tasha Hawkins; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
