Marc Anthony Hernandez, of Walla Walla, WA, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, WA, at the age of 51. Born to Crescencia Balderas on December 10, 1973, Marc was one of eight children and grew up with a deep sense of family and community.
Marc was a caregiver to his brother, Raymond Hernandez, for many years, demonstrating the compassion and devotion that defined his character. His presence was larger than life, known for his radiant smile, infectious laughter, and vibrant personality that made him a beloved figure in Walla Walla. He was the life of the party, bringing joy to everyone he met.
Marc owned and operated Pineapple Pete’s Shaved Ice in Walla Walla, where his warmth and generosity left a lasting impact on both the locals and visitors alike. Beyond his entrepreneurial spirit, Marc was a passionate lover of the outdoors, finding peace in nature.
He was a devoted son, brother, and uncle, whose love for his family was evident in everything he did. Marc is survived by his siblings, Connie Gaidjiergis, Robert Hernandez, Sylvia Moya, Evangelina Balderas, Armandina Kuolt, and Michael Barragan. He was preceded in death by his mother, Crescencia Balderas, and his brother, Raymond Hernandez.
Marc’s family and friends will forever cherish his memory. His infectious joy, loving nature, and unforgettable laugh will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A service to celebrate Marc’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at the Chapel of the Herring Funeral Home, 315 W Alder St, Walla Walla, WA 99362.
Marc will always be remembered, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
