Marcel was a classmate and coworker at Kraft Farewell old friend and godspeed. Deepest sympathy to the family.

My condolences to Marcel's loved ones. R.I.P., may the rest of his family cherish his memories and find peace. He was a good person and he would be there if you needed him. I didn't keep in touch with him over the years, but I did hang around with him in high school.

Marcel's Obituary

Marcel Patrick Deslandes, 68, of Newport Center, Vermont passed away on August 22, 2024 in Newport, Vermont.  He was born on March 17, 1956 in Newport to Nelson and Jeannette (Girouard) Deslandes.  

 

Marcel graduated from North Country Union High School in the class of 1974.  Growing up he worked on the family farm, and worked for Krafts in Troy, Vermont for 12 years.  Later he and his brother established Deslandes logging for 40 years.  Hunting and fishing was his glory.

He is survived by his brother Raymond Deslandes and his wife Brenda of Jay, Vermont, and by his sister Yvette Marsh and her husband Danny of Jay, Vermont.  He loved his cat Papone.

He was predeceased by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday September 5, 2024 at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Troy where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by Rev. Roger Charbonneau.  Interment will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery, Lowell.
