Very sad to hear of Marc's passing. I first met Marc at a Schroths game he was Umpiring at Wetzel Field. I later had the pleasure of Umpiring many Softball games and tournaments with Marc. He was always happy and became a great friend, I will miss him. Marc , rest in peace and keep calling strikes in Heaven.

I just learned of Mr. Gutterson's passing. I'm so very sad to hear of his passing. I was always at the Guttersons during my high school years.i was always welcomed like a part of the family. This news made me very sad. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Gutterson Family. Miss you Mr. Gutterson.

I am so sorry to hear about Mark. I have known him for years and then I umpire baseball and ref football with him. I always enjoyed my talks with him. Rest in Peace

My condolences to his family, I knew Mark in my early years through many different sports as an sports official, I had the opportunity to umpire softball with him later in life. Always a good man always something positive to say. May he rest in Peace.

Marcus's Obituary

 

Marcus A. Gutterson, 90, passed away on February 6, 2022 with his loving family by his side. Born in Braintree, MA was raised and lived on Long Island. He was a US Air Force veteran during the Korean War where he met and married his wife Jeannine in Laon, France. He raised his children and was part of the Bordentown Community for over 64 years.  Marc was a retired field engineer for IBM.  He officiated in local sports leagues but was known as the “Father of Organized Soccer’ in Bordentown for over 40 years. He was instrumental in the creation of what is now the Bordentown Community Soccer Association (BCSA).  He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2003 for his community service. He was a member of the Bordentown Elks Lodge #2085 for over 60 years and was deeply involved in the Bordentown Community.  He gave unselfishly to the community and will be deeply missed.

Predeceased by his parents Carroll and Alice Gutterson and his siblings, Carroll Jr and Pauline, he is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Jeannine Hediart Gutterson, his children: Jean Marc Gutterson and his wife Sandra, Martine Illuminate and her husband Vince, Catherine Gutterson, Patrick Gutterson and William Gutterson. Five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and his two nieces.

Funeral Services will be held 11 am Friday, February 11 at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St, Bordentown, NJ. Friends may call on the family Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm and again on Friday morning from 10 am until time of service. Interment will follow in Bordentown Cemetery, Bordentown Township, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to BCSA, 272 Dunns Mill Rd, #306, Bordentown, NJ 08505, to Samaritan Hospice, 3906 Church St, Mount Laurel, NJ 08054 or to the Alzheimer’s Association, 23 Vreeland Rd, Suite 105, Florham Park, NJ 07932.
