Marcus Ray Hooks, Jr.Forsyth . . . Marcus Ray Hooks, Jr. passed away Friday, December 12, 2014. Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 18, 2014, at The Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2617 Vinson Hwy, Milledgeville, GA. Rev. Eric Byrd will officiate. Mr. Hooks, the son of the late Marcus Ray Hooks, Sr. and Lois Elizabeth Moorer Hooks was born July 11, 1931, in Union Springs, Alabama. He was retired from the construction industry. Mr. Hooks was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War and was awarded the Purple Heart.Survivors include his son, Marc Hooks, and daughter, Marcia Hooks Gurganus, 5 grandchildren, one great grandson, and his companion of many years, his Chihuahua, Willie. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
