To the family of Marcus, we are saddened by your loss he was always a great person and was always very respectful he cared deeply about his family, he will be missed by many people that knew him. Marcus and I always had our laughs about his Cowboys and my Redskins. May he Rest In Peace, with sincere sympathy

Obituary

Marcus's Obituary

Marcus P. Salazar, born February 9, 1949, a lifelong resident of Raton, NM passed away unexpectedly on July 24, 2024 at the age of 75. 

Marcus, a proud retired Raton Police Department Sergeant and 4th degree Knight of Columbus is survived by his wife Pauline, sons Tony and his wife Shelly, Mark and Adrian. Grandchildren, which he loved and adored so much; Teanna, Sean Michael, Cameron and Alannah. His sister, Sally Armijo, brother-in-law Manuel Vigil, sisters-in-law Esther and her husband Mike Runion, Erlinda Sandoval and Lucy Tompton. Special family friends Sid and Mary Taylor and numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

Marcus is preceded in death by his parents, Lorenzo and Pilar; sisters Carmel, Viola, and Sadie, brothers Lorenzo Jr., Robert, Patrick and David.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 1st from 1pm until 3pm at the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home.

Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be held on Friday August 2nd at 12:00 pm noon at St. Patrick-St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, recited by the Knights of Columbus.  The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:30pm with Father Bill Woytavich as the celebrant. Rite of Committal and Interment with Military Honors will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Arrangements for Marcus P. Salazar are under the direction of the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home.
