Margaret 's Obituary

Margaret Sinerate, formerly of Belmont, MA, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at the age of 100, at her home in Lakewood Ranch, FL, Due to heart disease and dementia. She leaves behind her daughter Joan DeLeo (Ed Ryan), sisters, Marie Perino and Florence (Ray) Glenn of Modesto, CA, Santa (Frank) Scaroni of King City, CA and brothers Harry (Linda) Perino of Modesto, CA and Peter Perino of Sunnyvale, CA as well as many nieces and nephews on both the East and West Coasts. She also leaves sister-in-law, Mary Grace Colorito of Arlington, MA. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Ned in 2012. Margaret began work at a very young age at the Superior Laundry in Cambridge. While working there she met Ned whom she married in 1945. After years of raising her family, Margaret returned to work at the One Stop Cleaners in Arlington and retired from the Belmont High School cafeteria where she worked in the kitchen preparing student lunches. Margaret’s place was definitely in the kitchen as she enjoyed cooking big meals, waiting on everyone and was always the last on to sit down. Not only was she an excellent cook but a fabulous baker who made platters of Italian cookies and homemade cannolis on holidays or other family events that rivaled any of the bakeries in Boston’s North End. They were the highlights of everyone’s and she never visited anyone’s home without bringing some “goodies”. After retirement, Margaret and Ned traveled many times to California, Hawaii and Maryland, but her favorite destinations were monthly bus trips to Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun Casinos. After Ned’s passing, Margaret moved to SW Florida to live with Joan and her family. She enjoyed going out to eat, enjoying the sunshine on the lanai and playing with the family dog, Gino, who woke her up every morning with lots of kisses. The family would like to thank Margaret’s home health aide, Debi Hillier of Home Care of Tampa Bay for her assistance and devotion for the past two years. Services will be private in Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Avenue 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001 or Tidewell Hospice of Florida 4151 37th Street East, Palmetto, FL 34221.
