Maria Castaneda

Maria Castaneda, 76, of Blythe, California, passed away on May 23, 2015. She was born in Anáhuac, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, and has lived in California most of her adult life. She moved to Blythe with her husband and sons when they were just a young family.Maria was a long-time resident of Blythe.She loved spending time with her family, and enjoyed taking road trips with her husband to various states to visit her sons and family frequently. Maria was known for her kind spirit and sweet nature. She loved her family and frequently spent time sharing family updates to friends. Maria loved to cook, especially for family gatherings; everyone insisted she make her famous tortillas and tamales; nothing compared to them and no one was left hungry.Maria is survived by her husband, Andres; sons, Andy, Paul, Javier, Eddie, and Angel; sisters, Bernada, Ramona and Paula; brothers Felipe and Lupe; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.Maria was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Simon and Jose Amador; and sister, Lucia.A private service for Maria was held. She will be missed tremendously by her family and friends.
