Not sure what to say?

So sorry for the loss of Marie. My thoughts and prayers are for her children and grandchildren and rest of family

I am so sorry for your loss! I am praying for you all.

I remember Ms. Marie from her grandkids coming to Head Start and through her kids. She was a card and you did not have to wonder how she felt about you. She would let you know. I considered her a friend. Praying for the family and will see you soon,

So very sorry for your loss, she was a joy.

Weezer truly was one of a kind! Full of talent and I’m not sure she got the credit she deserved for being Ms MacGyver!! lol I wished I’d had just a little bit of the sewing and crafting skills she possessed. She once told me that I was an inspiration to her. It was our little secret! I hope she knew her value also. As none of us are perfect and fall short of the glory of God, she leaves behind her a fine and precious family. RIP Marie. You will be missed!

Ree we will always have our camping trips. You was such a good friend to me, rest high and camp wherever you want to. Gonna miss those pound cakes..

I’m so sorry for the lose of your mother. My thoughts and prayers be with you through this time.

I am so sorry for your loss. Marie was a unique individual and was very talented at many things. Prayers for you all at this time.

Obituary

Marie's Obituary

In the comfort of her home, Marion Marie Money Price entered her eternal home on November 29th, 2025. She was born May 27th, 1949, in Florala at the Lakeview Hospital to Dalton Money & Mamie Lee Gilley. Over her lifetime she moved to many locations, though life always brought her back home. To close family and friends, she was fondly known as Weezer due to her unique characteristics. In her lifetime she was a cook at numerous local restaurants, a seamstress at Seymour’s sewing factory & in her community and held many other odd jobs that she picked up along the way. To those who truly knew her best, Rie was one of a kind. A talented crafter who could use a sewing machine, crochet needles, a paint brush or even a jig saw to make something beautiful. A natural cook, who loved to bake for the ones she loved most. Baking was a safe option because nobody had to worry about taking a bite of herself made salt block some of her meals are famously known for. Marie enjoyed each of her hobbies though she was most excited to share about her plants that she would grow from random clippings she collected or was gifted, a talent of her natural green thumb.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law; Tommy Dorsey, her aunt who she fondly claimed as her second mother; Genevieve Gilley and many dear loved ones who she truly missed.

Marie will forever be remembered and loved by all who were fortunate to be in the front row seat to some of her most memorable moments in life. Her children; Lynda Christian (Lynn), Renee Lawson (Chris), Robie Price (April), Paula Stewart (Buckey), Jerry Price and Nicki Thomas; her grandchildren; Kim Christian (Thomas), Ashley Christian (Luke), Sam Christian (Adrian), Kyle Price (Chrissy), Hunter Price (Meredith), Blake Lawson (Tiffany), Brian Lawson, Lee Stewart (Gracie), Jacob Price, Emily Price, Garrett Thomas and Riley Thomas; 8 great grandchildren, her sister by heart, Margie Henderson and sister, Doris Dorsey. Alongside those are numerous extended family and friends who each carry a unique story about our Weezer, Aunt Rie, those Price kids’ Momma and ‘Money’...

Her children and close loved ones are working to fulfill her wishes as they say their goodbyes. Out of respect for her wishes, no funeral will be held.

A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, December 22, 2025 at the Ladies' Club house in Florala, Alabama. Family will receive guests from 5 PM - 8 Pm.
