Not sure what to say?

Marie and Walt became wonderful friend when I met them at their home on Adam’s Lane in the mid-seventies to help them furnish their home. The carefully bought one piece each year as they built their dream home and onward to their home and beautiful garden in Dearborn Heights. They were both bright lights with love and sharing kindnesses to be passed on to others. I’m thankful for their pure joy that they reached for and held strongly no matter what life said each day. Blessing to all.

You ended her obituary with “Why the solemn faces? I’m happy!”.. that broke my heart and made my heart so happy!!! I loved Marie and Walt. Knowing them was an honor and I’m proud to be able to call them friends. I’m going to miss Marie so much. She loved her family. I’m going to miss the stories. God bless all of you

I am so sorry to hear this! Marie was a fun friend with me back in Wayne-Westland schools. We had fun dinners together that I remember fondly. I would have certainly attended the funeral if I had known to say a proper farewell. Rest in peace Marie.

Mrs. Zelasko inspired me to be a better writer. She taught me to love not just the content of a piece of writing, but also how that writing appeared on the page (never underestimate the power of well-arranged white space!). She was an inspirational yearbook advisor and also, simply, a thoughtful and generous person. She is very much missed.

Mrs. Z was such a wonderful yearbook leader. I was lucky to be part of the yearbook team and I loved her sense of humor and great style. I am very sad to hear of her passing. She will be missed. Sending condolences to those who knew and loved her.

Mrs. Zelasko was a great teacher at Adams Jr. High. There wasn't a student who didn't like her. My thoughts and prays are with the family. Rest in Peace Mrs. Z.

I enjoyed working with Marie at JGHS. I shared "class sponsor" duties with her one year. She carried the heavy load and I was the "newby", learning the ropes. I thank you (again) for your patience, Marie. Teachers enjoy their work and have a passion that is like no other, when it comes to their students in the classroom. Marie exemplified this daily, smiling all the day through. She touched the hearts of so very many. WWCSD was lucky to have one of the best. Job well done, Marie. R.I.P.

I would like to first in how sorry Losing your aunt she was my favorite teacher out of every grade I ever had. I was in her English class for two semesters. What a dear lady she was I think about her so much. I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I have thought of your aunt throughout the years and what a special lady she was to me without her. I don’t think I would’ve graduated. That’s how special she was to me. She is surely gonna be missed by many if she touched my heart the way...
