Not sure what to say?

Being a neighbor for nine years we had some good times, sad times, happy times together with our children but those days have long passed. So glad Danny has kept in touch with my two sons, Tod & Brian, so I get to see Danny now and then but it had been many years since I last visited with Marilyn. And, Amy, I cannot remember the last time I saw you. I just want to let both Danny and Amy know I'm thinking of you and that you have my condolences. Love to you--your old neighbor!

Dear Dan and Amy,
It’s been many years since we have seen one another. However, I well remember the days when we Fontbonne ladies and our families gathered in our backyard for swimming and a picnic.
I was saddened to hear about your mother‘s passing. She had a kind, beautiful heart that was always open to listen and love.
Know that I will be keeping Marilyn and all of you in my daily prayers.
With love,
Jeannine Bastean

Your family is in my heart and prayers. Love and hugs to you all! May she now be at rest and be a guardian angel for you all. ❤

Amy,I'm so sorry to hear of your Mothers passing. Sending lots of prayers for you and your family. God be with you. Betty Stocker

My deepest condolences to you and your family, Amy.

Obituary

Marilyn's Obituary

Meyer, Marilyn Rose (née LaRussa), baptized into the hope of Christ's resurrection, Friday, July 25, 2025.

Beloved mother of Daniel (Kim Matreci) Meyer and Amy (John Walkenhorst) Meyer; dearest grandmother of Kyle (Makenzie), Reilly (Zach), Jack (Audrey) and Braden; step-grandmother of Kyle, Kelsey and Kayla; loving daughter of the late Frank and Bernice LaRussa (née Kretzer); dear sister of the late Frank LaRussa and Shirley (David) Anderson; our dear aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend of many.

Born in 1941, Marilyn was raised in St. Louis, Missouri, where she spent her entire life. The youngest of three children, she grew up in a loving family and nurtured a deep faith that would guide her throughout her life. Marilyn graduated from Incarnate Word Academy and went on to earn her degree in Education from Fontbonne College. With a natural gift for teaching and a kind heart, she began her career in the St. Louis public school system, later transitioning to teach in Catholic schools where she could integrate her love of learning with her deep Catholic faith.

A devout Catholic, Marilyn lived her life with quiet grace and unwavering commitment to her values. Her passions included bird watching, journaling, and drawing birds-hobbies that reflected her gentle spirit and appreciation for the natural world. Among her greatest joys was being a grandmother. Marilyn’s devotion to her grandchildren was immeasurable, and she was happiest when sharing her love, stories, and wisdom with them. Marilyn's warmth and kindness touched the lives of many, and she will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
