Wandersee, Marilyn Elizabeth, 96, baptized into the hope of Christ’s resurrection on February 10, 2026. She was born in St Louis, daughter of the late Bernard and Inez Burger (Kempf). Marilyn was the youngest of two siblings, Bob Burger and Jan Long, who preceded her in death.
Beloved wife of the late Elward “Ed” Wandersee. They met on a blind date and were married for 72 years. They raised five children; all who have honored Marilyn as a wonderful mother. Larry, Mark (Mary Jo), Greg (Cherie) Wandersee, Sue (Mark) Adkins, and Joan (Michael) Scherer; grandmother of 14 and great grandmother of 15; dear aunt, cousin and friend.
Marilyn loved and served her family well. She was kind, faithful and kindhearted to all. She loved playing bridge, spending time with family and friends, the Lake of the Ozarks, fishing, reading, walking, and square dancing. She was an avid Cardinals fan and volunteered several years at Meals on Wheels.
Marilyn’s presence will be deeply missed by all. May her memory bring comfort to those who loved her and inspiration to future generations for her commitment to God, family, and friends.
The family is grateful to St. Agnes Home and Gentiva Hospice for their dedication, care, and kindness to Marilyn.
