Marilynn's Obituary

Marilynn Anne Swierczynski

(née Snarski)

September 21, 1941 ~ July 1, 2025

Age ~ 83

Marilynn Anne Swierczynski, 83, of Eagle River, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025, surrounded by love, comfort, and family. A proud daughter of Chicago, she was born on September 21, 1941, to Edward and Ann Snarski (née Golembiewski). Her father, Edward, passed away when she was a small child.

She now joins both her parents in her heavenly home, along with a joyful Polish reunion—her aunts Wanda, Verna, Loretta, and Adeline; her uncles Raymond and Chester; and countless cousins and kin whose spirits surely met her with laughter, music, and an open seat at the table.

Marilynn is survived by her former husband, George Swierczynski, and their five children: Dirk Swierczynski, David (Shannon) Swierczynski, Daniel Swierczynski, Sandra (Tom) Baule, and Stephen (Tammy) Swierczynski. Her love and legacy continue through her grandchildren—Zachary, Macey, Gwen, Oliver, Lucas, Cody, Kailee, and Wyatt—and her great-grandchildren Kamille and Caden.

She is also survived by her brother James (Ethel) Snarski; nieces Suzanne and Christy; and a wide, wonderful web of cousins on the Golembiewski side of the family.

Marilynn lived life with deep joy, fierce loyalty, and an open heart. She supported those she loved without judgment and with unwavering strength. Her “mom energy” healed the hurting, uplifted the lost, and embraced anyone in need—family, friends, or strangers who quickly became one or the other. She was “Mom” to the neighborhood and the woman we all meant when we said “brother from another mother.”

She danced through life—literally. A devoted member of the Windy City Dance Club for over 40 years, she spent countless nights twirling across dance floors, surrounded by good music and great friends. Her cousin Debbie held a special place in her heart as her beloved dance partner and partner-in-fun, sharing laughter, rhythm, and memories that lit up her life.

Marilynn was also a voracious reader, having read and recorded thousands of books over her lifetime. Her appetite for story, language, and imagination was endless. And when it came to movies, she had a fierce love for action—there wasn’t a Jason Statham or Jeremy Renner film she hadn’t seen. She relished high-speed chases, bold characters, and cinematic justice. Marilynn had a sharp mind and a bold heart, and she appreciated a good thrill when she saw one.

Her home wasn’t just a place—it was a haven. Her life wasn’t just a timeline—it was a living, breathing embrace, to everyone lucky enough to be part of her orbit.

Though we grieve her passing, we do so with profound gratitude. Because loving Marilynn—and being loved by her—was one of life’s great privileges.
