Marion's Obituary

Marion B. Stillwell, 92, of Whiting, NJ passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2025.

Born and raised on the family farm in Upper Freehold, farming was an important part of Marion’s life.  She worked on the farm as a child and continued throughout her life.  She married Edward Stillwell in January 1961 and raised her family on the farm.  She was a homemaker and after her children went to high school began her career with Barnes & Noble, retiring after over 15 years.

Marion enjoyed going to the shore, where she and Ed would often go crabbing and fishing, and enjoyed many trips to the casinos in Atlantic City. She was a Yankees fan and enjoyed doing word search puzzles, some of which she submitted for a chance to win prizes.

Marion was a lifelong member of Debow’s United Methodist Church in Jackson, NJ.

Family was everything to Marion and she loved it when the family got together for picnics, card and game nights, and celebrations.  When she was ready to head home, she would look down at her watch and say, “time to head south”.

Daughter of the late Earnest and Margaret Briggs, she was predeceased by her husband Edward J. Stillwell, Sr. and by her seven siblings. Marion is survived by her children, Edward J. Stillwell, Jr. and Karen Stillwell, Debra and Roger Cregle, and Ernest and Dawn Stillwell; 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Services will be private and her ashes to be buried with her husband at East Windsor Cemetery.
