Marge was endlessly kind and welcoming. She loved a good time and had a gift for making everyone feel at ease and included. We are keeping her family and all who loved her in our thoughts.

I am lucky to have been working where Marge was living. Marge was such a unique, lovely, sweet person.
Will always rememberher her .as a spirited dancer with a beautiful spirit. She always made me smile.

My cherished friend of 60 years. We spent a lot of our lifes together with everlasting memories. I will miss her very much.
Marge was a wonderful person and enjoyed life.

Marjorie's Obituary

Shrewsbury- Marjorie A. (Crowley) McShera, 90, of Shrewsbury, MA, passed away on February 25, 2026.                                        

Born in Worcester, the daughter of Arthur J. and Christine E. (Lavigne) Crowley.  Marjorie was raised in Worcester and later, Shrewsbury, in the home built by her grandfather, Henry J. Lavigne.  A graduate of Shrewsbury High School class of 1954.

Marjorie lived life with enthusiasm.  She loved music and was known to be the first one dancing.  At her residence at Orchard Grove, she was known as “dancing Marge” dancing to the entertainment.  She enjoyed traveling, cruising, playing golf (getting 2 hole in ones) and playing bocce.  She and her first husband, Nelson taught ballroom dancing to the junior high school students in Lancaster. 

She was a great spectator for her children and grandchildren going to all their sport functions.  She was a very active member of the Clinton Emblem Club being the past president twice and was a Past State President of the Emblem Club.  Most importantly she enjoyed spending her time with family and friends.  

She is survived by her loving children: Sharon Hoover and her husband Douglas, Steven Powell and his long-time companion Terri Osborne. Her grandchildren Nicholas Powell, Coreen Lee, Brady Hoover, Brandon Hoover, Christopher McAndrews, Stephen McAndrews, Wyatt McAndrews, and Lillie Clark.  Sister Donna McGuinness. Stepchildren: Patrick (Ricky) McShera and his wife Denise, Maureen Foster and her husband James, several great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her late husband of 32 years Nelson G. Powell, and Patrick McShera of 25 years, her son Scott A. Powell, daughter Sandra A. McAndrews, stepdaughter Kathleen Flynn, her siblings Philip A. Crowley and Brenda M. Taylor.       

Marjorie’s family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at The Residence of Orchard Grove, Shrewsbury and her care team with Compassus Hospice throughout her illness.
