Mark Allen Smith

Mark Allen Smith, age 37 of Somerset, KY, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026 at his residence.  Mark was born on April 6, 1988 at Somerset, the son of Carthel Smith and Mary Haynes Smith.  Despite Mark’s limitations due to cerebral palsy, he was loving and a bright light in our lives.  Mark was a 2009 graduate of Southwestern High School.   He enjoyed cartoons, game shows, stuffed animals and listening to music.

Survivors include his mother, Mary Smith; two sisters, April Budd (Tim) of Berea, KY and Ashley Bradley of Somerset; his nieces and nephews, Autumn, Loren, L.T. and Makenna Budd;  Zackaury and Tristan Brumley; and Julianna Bradley; extended family members and friends who are saddened by his passing.

Mark was preceded in death by his father, Carthel Smith; paternal grandparents, Merlin and Dorothy Smith; and maternal grandparents, Billy and Lavonne Haynes.

Visitation for Mark will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.  His funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Rogers                             officiating.  Burial will be at the Tarter Cemetery at Nancy, KY.
