Memorial services for Mark Anthony Thornton, Sr. age 62, of Palestine will be held at 11:30 A.M. Thursday, March 31, 2022 at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Chaplain Randall Ator officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
Mr. Thornton passed away Friday March 25, 2022 in Palestine, Texas. He was born January 24, 1960, in Arlington, Texas to Howard Curtis and Odessa Bradshaw Thornton. He worked at the Ellis County Sheriff’s Department. He loved working on cars and could fix just about anything. He really enjoyed golfing, fishing, and doing PaPa things with his grandchildren.
Mr. Thornton was preceded in death by his father Howard Curtis Thornton, mother Odessa Bradshaw Blackmon, brothers Doug Thornton, Stanley Thornton, and Miller Thornton, sisters, Beatrice Thornton, Joy Yerian, and Gaye Walker. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Robin Thornton, son Anthony Thornton and wife Jessica, daughter April Rieper and husband Zack, brothers, Fred Thornton, and Hilton Thornton and wife Margarita, sister Audrey Enlow, grandchildren, Alex, JJ, Addy and Lilly, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Lunch will follow at 1:00 P.M. at Davey Dogwood Pavillion.
