I just heard of Willys passing. I played softball with him back in the 80s. Always a friendly guy whenever I saw him, most recently last fall. Rest in peace.

We met when we were 12 and our lifes continued to include each other. From Jr High basketball to kicking many teams butts in softball. You were my inspiration and always will be. You never let any disability get the best of anything you ever did. Get your glove ready, climb on the mound and wait for me to take first. Let's play some more ball buddy. I'll soak a few buds at your memorial for sure! Love and respect always.

Bev ,Denny and family. With a huge lump in our throats and tears coming down our cheeks we feel your loss . From the many years back Mark had that , I can and will do that whatever attitude. From baseball , fishing , hunting , snowmobiling etc. he did it all , with many of his friends. Mark was a survivor. He did more with his disability than many other people would even think to attempt. How terrific it was that the family was there for Mark when he needed you most. Bev, what a great job you...

Age 56
Mark A. Wilmot, age 56 of the Town of Crescent passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and under the care of Ascension at Home Hospice on Thursday, April 9, 2020.
Mark was born on Saturday, May 18, 1963, in Rhinelander, to Richard and Beverly (Richards) Wilmot. He was raised in Rhinelander, attending Rhinelander schools.
At a young age, Mark developed a rare type of Bone Cancer which was located in his leg and at the age of sixteen his leg required amputation. From that moment Marks life changed but it did not limit him. With a “Can Do Spirit” Mark faced life head on!
He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, camping, hiking, hunting and snowmobiling. He loved the Packers and traveling. But most of all, Mark loved his family, including his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and his many close friends.
He will be remembered for never letting his disability hold him back and lived his life on his own terms.
He will be dearly missed by his mom; Beverly Molzner (Denny Running), brothers and sisters; Richard (Gayle) Wilmot of Rhinelander, Scott Wilmot of Minnesota, Grant (Terri) Wilmot of Eagleville, Pennsylvania, Brenda Dickinson of Clarksville, Tennessee, Kelly Wilmot of Rhinelander, Leda (Gary) Vandervest of Rhinelander, Missy Lee of Rhinelander, Brent (Megan) Wilmot of Rhinelander and step-mother; Carla Wilmot of Rhinelander. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and many, many, wonderful friends.
Mark was preceded in death by his father; Richard Wilmot, maternal grandparents; Raymond and Beatrice Richards and by his paternal grandparents; Leonard and Ila Wilmot.
At the request of Mark, there will be no visitation or service. A Celebration of Mark’s Life will take place at a later date.
