Mark was a likeable guy and always willing to help with our class reunions. He set up slide shows and wrote our class letter. He gained recognition as a Captain in the USAF and was a trainer for other pilots. Our class will miss him.

Mark will be sorely missed by the Colby class of 1970 and certainly by his family and close friends. I knew Mark mostly around our fiftieth (really fifty-second reunion). I appreciated his humor and doggedness in getting us to work hard to make it a wonderful reunion.

Mark's update for one of our reunions.

Today, 10/30/25, I got the sad news via Colby that you have left us! As a classmate, your loss saddened, surprised, and weakened me. I knew you all four years with the last two being with AFROTC. While I did not follow you into the USAF we both respected each other's reasons for the paths we took. Later, as class president you volunteered your time to make our reunions memorable. You also contributed to your community where you lived, raised a family, played, laughed, and shared meals and good times. I'm sorry I could not make our 55th this past June as I was having some "issues" with arthritis. You set a high standard that many more of us should follow as we follow you!

Dear Ruth and family,
We join with you, in a small way, feeling the loss of Mark's presence. Mark is a treasured member of our Colby Class of 1970, showing his leadership and sharing his insights, sense of commitment, and humor with us all these years.
One small anecdote as an example: A few years back I was in Kingston and spotted copies of War Record in the window of a bookstore - Mark's book about his father's years growing up and serving in WWII. I picked up a copy, loved it, and told Mark that "the research must have been daunting, but as a Colby history major that was well done" and that I thought "it was very readable as well." Mark's reply, with a grin, was "glad you liked it, and I was an ENGLISH major."
He will be missed.

Ruth,
You and Mark were quite a team, I always admired how you supported each other.
Mark's unswerving efforts to serve his fellow citizens were an example to us all - a classic example of President Kennedy's "ask what can you do for your country."
We need many more like him.

It is with sadness to hear of the passing of Mark with whom I worked with for a number of years at Comtec Information Systems and later Zebra Technologies. Mark was a straight forward guy whose intellect, passion and focus to servicing clients and delivering against promises made, set him apart from many of his counterparts. Mark helped many within the organization to realize the importance of relationship building and everyone being on the same page to deliver high standards of excellence that set our organization apart from competitors. His calm demeanor and ability to secure full commitment from everyone involved in a project or company initiative made him a valuable resource to all.

Mark, our lives have been separated thru the years, however, through media & Christmas wishes, we maintained our cousin time. It is sad when we lose a relative, but knowing we will meet again relieves the sadness. We will miss the annual Christmas wishes, but knowing you will see Mom Charlotte & Dad Leo again dismisses your tasks here on the planet. Bon Voyage & see you soon! B & J. In New Mexico.
