Not sure what to say?

Mark was a likeable guy and always willing to help with our class reunions. He set up slide shows and wrote our class letter. He gained recognition as a Captain in the USAF and was a trainer for other pilots. Our class will miss him.

Mark will be sorely missed by the Colby class of 1970 and certainly by his family and close friends. I knew Mark mostly around our fiftieth (really fifty-second reunion). I appreciated his humor and doggedness in getting us to work hard to make it a wonderful reunion.

Mark's update for one of our reunions.

Today, 10/30/25, I got the sad news via Colby that you have left us! As a classmate, your loss saddened, surprised, and weakened me. I knew you all four years with the last two being with AFROTC. While I did not follow you into the USAF we both respected each other's reasons for the paths we took. Later, as class president you volunteered your time to make our reunions memorable. You also contributed to your community where you lived, raised a family, played, laughed, and shared meals and...

Dear Ruth and family,
We join with you, in a small way, feeling the loss of Mark's presence. Mark is a treasured member of our Colby Class of 1970, showing his leadership and sharing his insights, sense of commitment, and humor with us all these years.
One small anecdote as an example: A few years back I was in Kingston and spotted copies of War Record in the window of a bookstore - Mark's book about his father's years growing up and serving in WWII. I picked up a copy, loved...

Ruth,
You and Mark were quite a team, I always admired how you supported each other.
Mark's unswerving efforts to serve his fellow citizens were an example to us all - a classic example of President Kennedy's "ask what can you do for your country."
We need many more like him.

God bless and rest your soul Mark and may the Lord bless and comfort the entire Zaccaria family in Jesus Name we pray.

Ruth, deepest condolences to you and your family. May all the love and memories of a lifetime together soothe your soul. Mark touched so many lives in such a positive way. May he Rest In Peace.

I am so truly sorry for the loss of Mark..he was truly a remarkable guy. I will always remember his smile that i would see on Sunday Morning when we would see each other at NK United Methodist Church!! He was a great friend to all that knew him..he will be greatly missed..but now he is with God & pain-free. Sending Lots of Prayers~Hugs & Love to You Ruth & Your Family during this difficult time.

Prayers and condolences from myself and wife Cherine from many past associations in N. Kingstown, RI
