Marlene Crump Aston passed peacefully of natural causes on March 11, 2026, in Riverton, Utah, surrounded by the love of family and a lifetime of cherished memories. She was born on September 4, 1934, in Bluffdale, Utah, to Reynold Wilford Crump and Myrtle Frost Crump. Marlene was raised on the family farm in Bluffdale alongside her four sisters and two brothers, learning early the values of hard work, faith, and service that would guide her throughout her life.
She attended Riverton Elementary School for grades one through eight and later graduated from Jordan High School in June of 1952. Marlene carried her strong work ethic into adulthood and spent 32 dedicated years working at Wells Fargo Bank. She was known as a dependable and hardworking employee who took pride in doing her work well and treating others with kindness.
Marlene met the love of her life, Maurice Aston, on a blind date. Their meeting blossomed into a lasting partnership, and they were married on December 30, 1953, in Bluffdale, Utah. Together they built a loving home and family, welcoming five children: Dean, Brian, Terry, Robert, and Cindy. Marlene’s family meant everything to her. She had a special way of making holidays magical, loved preparing home-cooked meals, and often spent spare time crocheting, quilting, putting together puzzles, and playing card and dice games with family.
She carried deep pride in her pioneer heritage and was an active member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Marlene loved traveling the world and experiencing new places, yet her heart was always happiest at home in Bluffdale and Riverton. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served devotedly for 15 years in the Jordan River Utah Temple, along with many other church assignments. The greatest treasure of her life was her testimony of her Savior, Jesus Christ, and her loving Heavenly Father. Following the example of her mother, she believed deeply in serving others and especially cherished caring for her family. She truly was a friend to all.
Funeral services will be held in her honor for close friends and family on Friday, March 20, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Broomhead Funeral Home-12600 South 2200 West, Riverton, Utah 84065.
