Not sure what to say?

Sorry I couldn't be there today. Im so blessed to have gotten to care for you and my heart is happy you were with David at the end. I love you untill we meet again ❤❤❤

A beautiful, faithful, Godly life finished. We are thankful! Many wonderful memories of times spent together with all the family. Precious especially was fellowship in the "upper room". Special care and love to all.

David and family ~ my deepest sympathy during the loss of your wife, mother and grandmother ~ Marlene. Growing up the Krack family were our neighbors ~ Marlene had the privilege of being a part of your wonderful family! May Jesus hold you close as you mourn your loss ~ today and in the days to come.

I remember as a little girl visiting David and Marlene and loving to be around Marlene when we went. She was always so kind and full of beautiful energy and spirit. Many will miss her but what a wonderful privilege we had of knowing her and having her in our lives. All should be so lucky.

"Joy and sorrow interwoven, love in all I see". I have many fond memories of time in Devil's Lake, with David, Marlene, and the boys. I think we went to North Dakota almost every summer so Mom could visit her "cousin siblings". David, Jeff, Steve, and Rob - I'm thinking of you all with so much love and care. Your family fills a lot of my childhood memories. ❤

Our sympathies to your family these days and in the past days when ‘Mom’ would have been lost to you. We can echo the comments of others who found Marlene so interesting and friendly. A true friend in Christ.

Thoughts are there with you all. I have fond memories of Marlene and David at Dagmar. With sympathy and care from western New York, Randy & Debbie Mayer

We are thankful that Marlene was able to finish her journey on this earth and has gone on to what she loved and lived for! I always enjoyed visiting with her, she was so funny and interesting. I will always remember her just as she looks on the picture here! We had planned on coming to the funeral but the blizzard has changed our minds! We are thinking of you who loved her as you say final goodbyes.

Marlene's Obituary

Marlene Joyce Krack, age 84 of rural Devils Lake, ND, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026 at the Eventide Heartland Care Center in Devils Lake, ND.  A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Dunnigan-Dix Funeral Home in Cando, ND. Visitation will be at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service. The burial will be at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Cando, ND in the spring.

Marlene was born February 23, 1941, to Roy and Edith (Hauge) Rockvoy in Minot, ND. She was an only child and a polio survivor.

In the Fall of 1959, while attending college in Minot, Marlene became acquainted with David Krack. In the following months, Marlene attended Gospel Meetings and made clear her intention to serve God in a truly living way; a conviction she held throughout her life.

Marlene and David were married in August of 1961. They finished college in Minot while also working. Marlene and David both taught in Stanley, ND for two years before settling in Devils Lake in 1967.

Their son Jeffrey was born in 1962, followed by Steven in 1967 and Robert in 1972.

Marlene was a teacher, first in elementary schools and then in Adult Education. She was voted Adult Educator of the Year in 1999, having started and supervised 16 GED Centers in the Devils Lake area.

Marlene and David opened their hearts and home to friends and family. They often hosted Christian fellowship meetings for friends and ministers who shared a belief in the New Testament teachings. They also loved attending Christian conventions and counted it a privilege to help with Convention preparations as well, spending several weeks each Summer at Dagmar, MT.

She will be remembered as a loving wife, a supportive mother, and gracious friend.

Marlene is survived by her husband David, her three sons Jeff (Lynnette) Krack of Harrisburg, SD; Steve (Narelle) Krack of Brisbane, Australia; and Rob (Aleta) Krack of Thompson, ND along with seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Margaret (Jerry) Siegel of Brookings, SD; brother-in-law Paul (Kathy) Krack of Cando and many nieces and nephews. Marlene’s parents and two sisters-in-law, Hazel Krack and Sue Krack, both of Cando, ND preceded her in death.
