Brick, NJ 08723Marlene (Barnes) Wynkoop, age 90 of Brick, NJ passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 28th, 2025 at Artis Senior Living Facility in Brick. She was born and raised in Allentown, PA. After high school, she moved to Philadelphia, PA and received her Nursing Degree at Temple Hospital in 1956 and then stayed on as a Registered Nurse where she met her husband, Richard. They later moved to Bradenton, FL where she worked as Dr. Wynkoop’s Office Manager before retiring, traveling, and ultimately moving to Brick in 2002. She loved children and in addition to fostering several, was very active in the Children’s Home Society in Bradenton. She loved being on the water with a home on the Manatee River in Florida and on Kettle Creek here in Brick. She loved spending time with her family and worshiping at Brick Presbyterian Church. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 47 years, Dr. Richard F. Wynkoop in 2007. She is survived by her loving children and grandchildren, Loyd Aric Wynkoop and his wife, Janine of Alpharetta, GA and his daughter Tyne Kwais married to husband, Hamza Kwais of Tallahassee, Fl, Dr. Walter A. Wynkoop and his wife, Carrie Edelman, MD and their children, Jacob and Rachel of Brick and Lori Ann Gobert and her husband, Robb and their daughter, Julie Ana of Columbus, TX. At this time, all services will be private. Weatherhead Young Funeral Home in Brick is in charge of arrangements.
