Not sure what to say?

Marsha and her husband, David (a Major, U.S. Air Force), were Life members of the Military Officers Association of America, Wichita Falls Chapter, for many years. I currently serve as President. She and David were steadfast attenders of our dinner meetings and respected members of our Chapter. I remember Marsha as very friendly, kind and sociable. Both, she and David, have been missed. I extend, on my behalf and the Chapter's, my heartfelt condolences to her family.

Marsha, we shared many jokes in our Roger’s school days.

sorry to learn of her passing. my sister sharon stone thought highly of marsha and spoke of her often.

I’m so sorry to hear this. Marcia was a shining light to many. I so enjoyed our visits.

Marsha's Obituary

Marsha Linn Homyk (née McClung), of Flower Mound and Wichita Falls, Texas, passed away on August 13, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on July 24, 1947, in Vallejo, California, she lived a life marked by dedication to education and devotion to her family.

Marsha was a 1965 graduate of Rogers High School in Rogers, Arkansas.  She and David Nicholas Homyk were married April 29, 1967, and traveled the world as David served in the United States Air Force.  Marsha earned her bachelor’s degree from Midwestern State University and spent two decades shaping young minds as a teacher with Burkburnett Independent School District.  One of the final hires of the great principal Overton Ray, she taught first grade at John G. Tower Elementary for Mr. Ray, and then English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), leaving a lasting impact on countless students through her commitment to learning and language. Her ESOL career at Tower Elementary, Hardin Elementary, Evans Elementary, and Burkburnett Junior High Schools reflected a deep belief in the power of education and the importance of language in creating community.  She retired from teaching in 2008.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David; her mother, Estella Potter McClung Buckman; and her father, Duffy McClung.

Marsha is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Kristen Homyk and husband James Seals; her son, Nicholas Homyk and wife Micha Homyk; and her grandchildren: Hagen Homyk and Ellison “Oakley” Howcroft along with Oakley’s father Jeffrey Howcroft and stepmother Serena Howcroft. She also leaves behind step-grandchildren, Jackson Seals and Abigail Seals and their mother Sarah Seals.

Marsha’s legacy lives on in the lives of those she taught and the family she held dear. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 600 Davy Drive, Burkburnett, Texas, 76354.  Rite of Committal will follow at Burkburnett Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Burkburnett.
