Martha Ann Goodenough, 73 years old, of Hampton died April 18, 2025. She was a native and life-long resident of the Buckroe Beach area of Hampton, Virginia. Martha enjoyed and loved music, crocheting, and especially long walks around the neighborhood and at the beach. Anyone who encountered her knew her “Free Spirit”.
Martha is survived by three daughters, Mary Julia (Hunter) of Brooksville, FL, Barbie Amick of Surry, VA and Brenda Goodenough of Hampton, VA; one son, Terry Goodenough, Jr. of Hampton, VA; eleven grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren. Martha is also survived by her brothers, Paul G. Jaffeux, Wayne A. Jaffeux and Thomas E. Jaffeux; as well as a sister, Brenda S. Lowe.
Please join us in our “Walk for Granny” down Memory Lane, from her house at 1830 Beall Drive in Hampton to Buckroe Beach, where she grew up. The gathering of family will begin at 10:30 am on Thursday, April 24 at Martha’s house and we will be leaving promptly at 11:30 am to begin our walk to the beach. We will have a memorial service presented by Martha’s brother, Paul G. Jaffeux, at the Pavillion on the beach upon arrival. Following the service, the family will be hosting a reception for family and friends at Martha’s home.
