Martha Ann Hodge, 91, of Cross Roads, LA a loving wife, Mother, and Mamaw, was born on April 13, 1934 in Becker, MS and passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, July 11, 2025. Funeral services for Martha Ann will be held Monday, July 14, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home with Brother Tommy Lindsey and Brother Don Delukie officiating. Interment will follow at Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home. Martha’s strongest characteristic was her love of the Lord and was a faithful member of Crossroads Church of Christ. Martha’s many jobs included Howard Bros. Dept. Store as Toy Manager, K & J Grocery, Mrs. E. R. Rogers Grocery, baby sitting for many children, and the last 30 plus years she worked as bookkeeper along with her husband for the Rocky Branch Water System. Her greatest joys were her family, talking to her friends and neighbors, her love of flowers, and gardening. Her work ethic was second to none.
Martha Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Paul West and Cyrene Moss Gilbert; step-father, Oliver Gilbert; infant son, Baby Hodge; brother, Harold West; brother-in-law, Johnny Hodge - whom she loved like a brother; and two special people who shaped Martha Ann’s life, Willie and Minnie Smith.
She was the most loving wife, mother, and grandmother being survived by her husband of 75 years, Bobby Joe Hodge; 2 sons, Charley Hodge (Mary Lou) of Las Vegas, NV and Rusty Hodge (special daughter-in-law, Jill) Cross Roads, LA; Special grandchild, Hope Hodge (Jonathon), Brittni Hodge, Jordan Hodge, and Adam Hodge. 2 great grandchildren, Arya and Ashton Hodge; two brothers, Paul Raynell West (Carla) of Colorado Springs, CO and Jimmy Dale West of Becker, MS; Special sister-in-law, Joy Ann Tatum of West Monroe, LA; and many nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be James Harold West, Kenny West, Tim Hodge, Brian Hodge, Wendell Hodge, and Phillip Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathon Richard, Dennis Dean, Scotty Knowles, Sidney Antley, Jimmy Brantley, Terry Brantley, Kevin Brantley, Justin Brantley, and Earl Babineaux.
The family would like to give thanks to Arbor Lake Nursing Home staff which provided a safe home for three years. Special thanks to Lee, Heather, Amy, Tina, Ariel, Anita, all the wonderful CNA’s, and friends which made our last days bearable along with Elara Caring Hospice.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Sunday, June 13, 2025 at Farrar Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
