Not sure what to say?

Our deepest condolences and prayers for the family.

I am just so unbelievably saddened by this news and my deepest sympathy goes out to your entire family. I only met him a few times many years ago, when we were basically neighbors in crossroads. He was a spunky kid with a great smile. He was the light of his family and a great big brother when Joey came along. While we moved away after a couple of years, I have always thought of you and your family fondly. May you find peace knowing he was an amazing person and impacted many during his time...

I am so sorry for your loss Kelly and Chance. My heart is breaking for you both and Joey.

Our hearts and prayers are with Kelly, Chance and Joey. All our love, Uncle Bennie and Aunt Margaret.

Jaime was always filled with joy, always joking around just like his dad! He was such a sweet kid and his vibrant smile was just so contagious. I will cherish the memories and laughter he brought to us all.

I am still in shock what a horrible tragedy to befall a man at that age. Jaime you will be missed and there will always be a hole, where you used to be. If there was some way to trade places, or prevent that evening from happening, but of course it doesn't work that way. My brain keeps trying to figure a way around this, but I just go around and around and never get anywhere.

Mike and Kelly, I know this is less than 1% of what you must be feeling, but if there is some way I...

Jamie was a smart, funny, and caring person. Always saw him laughing and having a great time with his friends. Saw him smiling and making jokes with friends and teachers at the alumni lunch. And smiling and goofing around while driving around with Keon, Mitch, and Colby before heading back home. God bless him and his family.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Jamie was a kind-hearted man. He was always so lively and true to his nature. He was a little chaotic at times, but I remember all the times we had in automotive. He would always ask to work on his car as a joke most of the time, or he would help us work on our own vehicles. I still see his happy face hours before the accident—he was smiling and happy as we hung out after the alumni lunch at LaGrone. I'm gonna miss him, but I'll always have him in my heart.

Obituary

James "Jamie"'s Obituary

James Douglas Harper, lovingly known as Jamie, passed away in a car accident on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, in Pilot Point, Texas, at the age of 18. Born on August 27, 2007, in Plano, Texas, Jamie was the eldest son of Chance and Kelly Harper.

Jamie lived with passion and purpose. A fierce competitor and devoted teammate, he found joy and strength on the hockey rink. As a proud Dallas Stars fan, he enjoyed visiting hockey arenas across the country with his family. Off the ice, Jamie found peace in nature—especially with a fishing pole in hand and the quiet of the outdoors.

Jamie was thoughtful, insightful, a hard worker, and an overall great kid. He just graduated high school with dreams of becoming an Audi Master Mechanic due to his love of German cars. Before he passed, he confided to his family that he was interested in joining the Air Force so he could work on jet planes. His whole life was before him, and he was ready to tackle it. He and his father Chance justreturned from a Father / Son trip to Germany where they visited every German car museum there was, along with racing on the Autobahn. Jamie was so excited he got to 240kph (151mph) and wanted to commemorate it with matching tattoos. While on the trip, Jamie also asked to visit The Cathedral at Cologne. He was awestruck by the engineering and artisanship put into the construction of this  building and was moved by the experience.

Professionally, Jamie worked as a technician at Discount Tire, but to those who knew him, he was far more than his title. He built genuine relationships with customers and co-workers, earning tremendous admiration through his kindness, dedication, hard work and infectious spirit.

Jamie loved deeply and wholeheartedly. His devotion to his family and friends was unwavering, especially the bond he shared with his mother and Grandma. His heart was generous, his presence uplifting, and his legacy enduring. He found brotherhood with his closest friends he graduated from La Grone Academy with, and valued their friendship and saw them as family.

His memory will be cherished by his parents, Chance and Kelly Harper and brother, Joseph “Joey” Douglas Harper, of Cross Roads, TX. His loving grandparents, Kelli Harper of Plano and Anthony and Rieta Brady of Concord, NC, and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, & Friends. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, William Douglas Harper and uncle, Richard Douglas Harper.
