Mr Martin was a man that would just cheer me up every time I was with him he understood me so much and would always give me advice I never thought that some one like him would understand me I always loved he's jokes and he would also give me the best advice I would call him all the time and try to visit him in the hospital wen ever I would get a chance I would always ask about him and go to he's house and would barely get any information about him but I never stopped trying to go see my...

Martin's Obituary

Martin Lopez Sr., 81, the beloved husband of more than 50 years to the late Virginia G. Lopez, reunited with her in eternal rest on November 22, 2025. Born in Genoa, Texas, on September 24, 1944, Martin was preceded in death by his cherished wife; his parents, Fermin and Santos Lopez; and his siblings: Daniel, Joe, Fermin Jr., Ricardo, Tabita, Gloria, Esperanza, and Juana.

A hardworking and dedicated provider, Martin spent many years employed with K & D Pipe Line Services, Inc., where he proudly worked until his retirement.

Martin leaves behind a legacy of devotion, strength, and love that lives on through his children:Martin Lopez Jr., Eva Thompson (Joe), Demetrius Lopez (Marina), Edwina Barefield, and Jennifer Lopez;15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Johnny Lopez; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to Jose (#9) Salazar, Ronny & Kathy (Kat) Rinehart, and Amigos Del Barrio (So Ho) for their unwavering friendship, support, and love shown to their beloved Martin Sr.

Services have been entrusted to South Houston Funeral Home.

On December 5, 2025, the family will welcome visitors into the main chapel from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

At the conclusion of services, Martin’s final wishes will be honored.
