Marty "Kip"'s Obituary

Marty Don “Kip” Hanner 63 of Ririe, died August 11, 2025 at the Carriage Cove in Rexburg, Idaho.  He was born on September 7, 1961, in Rangely, Colorado a son of Larry Don Hanner and Sheila Miller Hanner.

Kip attended schools in Ririe and graduated from Ririe High School in 1980. On July 4, 1987, he married Pamela Kim Peterson in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Kip lived in Idaho Falls, Soda Springs, San Diego, Alaska, Washington D.C. and Ririe, Idaho.  

Kip worked at Craft Foods in Ririe, Idaho and as an independent concrete worker all over the country, including pouring concrete at the Capitol in Washington D.C. He also worked for Noreen Construction, Ronnie Jensen, and other independent contractors, as well as being a union member in concrete at the INL.

Kip had many hobbies included riding motorcycles, fishing, raising roosters, chickens, and dogs. He loved anything outdoors, could identify birds by a found feather, and was an animal expert, especially with dogs and birds.

Kip is survived by daughter Kristina Jackson of Kentucky, Son, Travis (Amy) Rosen of Idaho Falls, sister Sheila Hanner of Ririe, 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Pamela Kim Hanner, sister Debbie Cromwell, Brothers, Harve Hanner and Herb Hanner.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
