Marvin was born February 2, 1938 in Ringgold, LA and passed away October 5, 2025 at his home in Ringgold, LA. He was a United States Army Veteran. Marvin worked at Dandy Products in Shreveport, LA for many years before opening and operating Wilson’s Grocery in Ringgold, LA. He loved hunting and fishing, especially with his grandchildren. He would take them to the lease where they would share vienna sausages, sardines and crackers together. Marvin enjoyed looking for arrow heads and being outdoors. His greatest love was his family, and he doted on all his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marvin was a great father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J. T. and Irene Wilson; brothers, Jimmy Joe Wilson, Vance “Buddy” Wilson and Jerry Parks and brother-in-law, Tommy Carleton.
Left to cherish his memory include his wife of 65 years, Laura Wilson of Ringgold, LA; sons, Greg Wilson and wife, Diane of Ringgold, LA and David Wilson and wife, Lola of Heflin, LA; grandchildren, Kellie Shirley and husband, Chad of Castor, LA, Abbie Wood and husband, Preston of Heflin, LA, Jennie Foster and husband, Jared of Ringgold, LA, Molly Griffith and husband, Luke of Minden, LA, Zach Thomas of Portland, OR, Shelby Dees and husband, Dylan of Camdon, AR and Adam Dubois of Springhill, LA; first great grandchild, Caleb Shirley, whom he would have to ride around on the lawn mower to get him to sleep, along with 14 other great grandchildren and one on the way; sister, Margie Carleton of Bossier City, LA; life time friend, Bobby Cook and wife, Jane of Dallas, TX and a number of other relatives and friends.
