Mary Antoinette Actor

MRS. MARY ANTOINETTE (MINOTTI) ACTOR, 98 years old, died at Kimball Farms Nursing facility in Lenox MA. She and her husband were long time residents at 85 Birch Grove Drive Pittsfield, MA. She was born in Pittsfield, MA on April 15, 1917, daughter of John Minotti and Josephine (Bogliolo) Minotti. She attended Pittsfield schools and graduated from Pittsfield High School. Mary was primarily a homemaker. During World War II, she worked at the General Electric Co. assembling transformers to be used in bombs in the war effort. She married in 1946 and was married for 53 years. She was a devoted wife and mother. For many years she was employed at the former England Brothers Dept. Store in Pittsfield, primarily in the toy department and book department. She was an avid reader and enjoyed discussing politics. She loved music including opera, particularly the works of Verdi. In retirement she was a frequent traveler with her husband and they enjoyed interacting with both locals and tourists. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. She was the widow of Joseph F. Actor Sr. who died on January 27, 2000. They were married on June 15, 1946. Survivors include a daughter: Mary E. Actor, who resides in New York, NY and a son: Joseph F. Actor Jr., an electronic engineer in Uxbridge, MA. She also leaves nieces and nephews. All four of her brothers are deceased including Ernest, Victor, Peter, and Robert Minotti. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mary Actor will be celebrated Thursday February 4, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
