Not sure what to say?

Such a loss! Mary Chris was a fun, friendly and kind person. We always enjoyed seeing her and catching up on Life. My fondest memories are Mary Chris tap dancing on the stage for the Hits and Mrs. Shows. RIP Mary Chris.

Mary Chris will be so missed by all. Our sympathy goes out to all of her family and close friends. It was always such a pleasure to be around the Rohde house and Mary Chris shows up. What an upbeat smiling personality she was. Rest in peace Mary Chris.

Mary was always a true joy to work with. Without fail, she managed to bring sensibility and compassion to a hectic and fluid airline schedule. Her phone call and signature “Hello Doll” was always welcome by any of her pilots. We were all so very lucky to have been blessed to work with such a fantastic person! Godspeed Mary, Godspeed.

So many fond memories, you could always count on Mary Chris to "light up the room" with boundless energy and positivity. I feel comfort in knowing she is bringing that light to heaven. Love you my friend. Goose

Mary Chris left a trail of fairy dust wherever she went. Sure hope she shares "wine time" stories from heaven. God bless her always!

I hadn’t known Mary for long but she left such a lasting impression. What a kind and gentle person. I’ll never forget how she helped me out with work stuff and personal stuff and more work stuff. I’ll never forget her kindness, I really hope to emulate her approach to life! Rest in peace beautiful soul❤

I did not know her but I know that I would have loved her and wanted to hang around with her. What a well written and colorful tribute to a colorful spirit!

How can you say something meaningful about such an incredible person. It’ll be hard but I’ll take a crack at it. Mary was kind hearted, helpful, friendly and always a joy to talk to, even when she was delivering news you didn’t want to hear (from Crew Scheduler to Pilot). Her compassion guided her to be an incredible asset for both Pilot and company. She had a knack for finding solutions that were palatable to both in the toughest of times.
I was blessed to work with (for?).

God blessed us with Mary Chris’s energy, charm, and great love of life, and her love of others. Our sincere condolences to all of the family.

Obituary

Mary Chris's Obituary

On Monday December 31, 1951 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Mary Chris (Rohde) Hiance burst into theworld with a spirit covered in bright color, sparkle and sound. A month overdue to Geraldine and DonRohde, she was already starting life on “Rohde Time.” Her sparkle waltzed her through life gatheringlife-long dance partners everywhere she went. In her early life with her siblings: Mike, Rick, Steve, Margiand Beth, there was never a question of love, laughter and sibling abuse. There is some debate as towhich sibling is in charge and which one is center stage. However, everyone can agree, Mary Chris stolethe stage during most events. She blazed through St. Mary Grade School, Summit Country Day HighSchool and attended the University of Cincinnati before beginning to burn her life path that covered somany cities, states, countries and lives it would take another lifetime to discuss. Then her universe burstinto super nova with her greatest joys, Trey, Katie and Stephen. She endowed to them all the love ofpeople and life she had, and the cosmos would never be the same! She tap danced with true Mary Chrisenergy at sporting events, parent organizations and church functions at St. Catherine’s (as well as others)like she was Ginger Rogers herself. Once this comet of a human rose to the skies as a flight attendant, itbecame apparent there was no holding her back or down and the best anyone could do would be to holdon tight to her fiery tail and enjoy the ride (which her found airline, church and social families did withno reservations). All this is not to say the world didn’t try to dim her shine, as anyone who is familiar withthe term “Mary Crisis” can attest. However, she always managed to come through as a champion, notjust a survivor. Her last year was spent zipping through as many places and lives in her RV and her WineTimes would allow. Her last two months were spent with anyone and everyone that could get to her tobask in her glow and hear her voice. On Friday, October 10, 2025 at the age of 73, her unwavering faith iswhat finally allowed this force of nature to ascend to the heavens, where she will continue to shine on usand tell us what to do. She is survived by her three amazing children: Robert J. “Trey” Hiance, III (Colleen),Kathryn “Katie” Hiance Anderson (Josh) and Stephen ”Boomer” Hiance, that were blessed upon her byGod and her ex-husband, Robert J. “Bob” Hiance, Jr. Also survived are her five shining star grandchildren: Emeran Hiance, Evelyn Hiance, Noah Hiance, Heidi Anderson and Herbert Anderson, and her five loving siblings, Mike Rohde, Rick Rohde (Val), Steve Rohde (Sue), Margi Richmond and Beth Bernasco.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 15 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Geo. H. Rohde & Son Funeral Home, Mt. Lookout. Complimentary Valet will be provided.
