Mary Frances (Mahoney) Forrer, 77, returned home on April 9th, 2024. Born on a warmer-than-normal Friday in Massachusetts, January 17th, 1947, marked Mary's Earthside entrance when she was welcomed by parents Dennis 'Joseph' and Anna (Franzosa) Mahoney, along with older siblings Dennis, Daniel 'Mickey,' Joann, and Edward. While living in Massachusetts, Mary found herself in Virginia visiting friends, which resulted in a change in her life trajectory when she met her life partner, Michael Forrer, while he was serving in the Navy. Mike and Mary eventually married on April 8th, 1972, and spent their time living in Massachusetts and Wisconsin, Mike's home state. They eventually settled in Virginia permanently, where Mary assisted Mike in running Do-More Construction and showcased her love for children by working at a preschool for many years. More importantly, Mary found joy outside of work. Taking a liking to humor, Mary could be found hanging around the jokesters of the family, interacting with children, catching up with friends, caring for pets, and eating good food, particularly sweets, a family trait that runs deep. She often expressed her love for others by making them her secret spaghetti and meatball recipe. While she was kind to prepare a meal for her guests, it was also her way of not having to share her family's recipe that people yearned for. Mary leaves behind a large extended family that already misses her. Serendipitously, Mary returned home to Mike in what seemed like it might have been a day late, but it was actually perfect timing. You see, if you know anything about Mary, you would know that she is notoriously habitually late to everything. While Mary may have intended to be with Mike once again on their anniversary on April 8th, it would not have been in Mary's fashion to be on time, making her April 9th reunion with Mike perfect, which we are sure Mike was expecting.
