Mary was born on August 5th, 1934, to Austin James Keenum and Edith Dove Sieber Keenum. Mary lived the majority of her life on a cow camp on the Turkey Track Ranch south of Spearman with her husband and 5 children. From a very young age she was an amazing seamstress. She made top notch outfits, dresses, and formal ware for her 2 daughters through their high school years then continued on sewing for her granddaughters as well. She was also very talented and meticulous when it came to quilting, crocheting, and knitting.
Mary also had a huge heart for her small, fluffy dogs. She was never without one and took them everywhere she went. She enjoyed vacationing in the mountains and fishing at Monument Lake, usually out fishing us all.
When all the kids left home, Mary pursued another dream and became a floriest for the Boxwell Brothers. Her talents took her on to become a FTD Master Floriest and part owner of her own shop "Prairie Garden Flowers". Running her own business was a new adventure, but it didn't keep her from her favorite pastimes. She was an avid book reader, sometimes reading 3 or 4 books at a time. She also loved to paint, work crossword puzzles, play sudoku games and put together jigsaw puzzles. She was also a devout member of the Church of Christ. She was one of a kind.
Mary is survived by her brother Tommie Gerald Keenum and wife Betty of Abilene and their 3 children John Austin, Susan Elaine, and David Scott. Her brother Alan Paul Keenum and wife Linda of San Angelo and his two children Deborah Ann and Amanda Kay. Her son James Clinton and wife Eileen of Hawaii and their sons Arlie Vincient and Clinton Ross. Son Freddie Calvin and wife Janice Gale of Sperman and their 3 children Edward Hugh, Teddie Dee, and Gale LaRue. Her daughter Cynthia Arlece Knox and husband Ted of Stinnett and their 2 children Heather Rene' and Monty Eugene. Son-in-law Roy Reed of Chickaloon Alaska. 7 grandchildren, 17 great grand grandchildren and 1 great- great- grandchild.
She is proceded in death by her parents Austin and Edith Keenum, her husband A.V. "Smokey" Mayfield, her daughter Loretta Diane Reed. As well as 5 brothers-in-laws, 2 sisters-in-law and their spouses.
She will be dearly missed!
