Mrs. McGuire was 'kind of' my adopted mother during high school and college since I spent much time with her entire family; such wonderful memories. I will always remember her 'Sun Tea' she always used to make for us. She was truly a Blessing to the many lives she touched.

Mary's Obituary

Mary Louise (Theresa) McGuire, 91, passed away at her home in Jamestown, Indiana on Sunday, March 15. 2026. She was born in Mickleyville, Indiana, on April 30, 1934, a daughter of the late Chester Peter and Mary Catherine (McCarthy) Case.

Mary Lou graduated from Plainfield High School in 1953.

On April 13, 1955, she married Joseph T. "Tom" McGuire, Jr at St. Susanna Church in Plainfield. They shared 59 loving years of marriage before he passed away on May 13, 2014.

For several years she was an active Member of the Automotive Booster Club. She was very active with numerous activities with Saint Malachy Parish in Brownsburg while her children were enrolled in St Malachy Parish School.

Mary Lou was devoted to raising her children then, she pursued her career as a CertifiedNursing Assistant, beginning with Hendricks County Hospital 1976-1978 then on to Veterans Administration Hospital in Indianapolis from 1978-1996.

Survivors include her children, Terri Jo (Marc) Jarvis, Mary Beth Lawson, Joseph T. (Nadine), McGuire, III, John McGuire, and Daniel McGure; grandchildren, Jen Medsker, Matt Jarvis, Meghan Johnson, Robert McGuire, Charles McGuire, Joseph McGuire, Kristin McGuire; and seven great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by her grandson, Jeremy Strange and five older siblings.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 13, 2026, at St. Malachy Church, 9833 E County Rd 750 N, in Brownsburg, Indiana. Burial of ashes will follow at St Malachy West Cemetery in Pittsboro, Indiana. Porter and Hunt Funeral Home & Crematory in Jamestown has been entrusted with her arrangements. 

Mary Lou felt it was important for her to make donations to as many charitable organizations as possible. So please, in her honor and in lieu of sending flowers, choose your favorite charity, and make a donation in her name.
