Mary's Obituary

Mary Wynell Thomas, 82, of Wichita Falls passed away Sunday, January 11, 2026.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 16, 2026 in the Chapel of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Shields officiating.  Interment will follow at Byers Riverside Cemetery.

Wynell was born on April 22, 1943 in Wichita Falls to the late Jimmie and Bertha Mae (Odom) Roy.  She married Louis Edward Thomas in 1962, and the couple were married for 49 years until his passing.  Wynell loved to host family gatherings, especially at Thanksgiving and Christmas, and was an excellent cook, especially her cheesecake, and those enchiladas!  She was very close to her sister Sue, whom she spent a lot of time with after Louis’ passing.  Wynell was a patient woman, who loved the Lord and prayed every day.  She accepted friends as family, no matter how long they had been part of the family.  Her greatest passion in life was her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and daughter Lori Boykin.

Wynell is survived by son Tim Thomas and wife Diedrea; grandchildren Brandon Hamadi, Tyler Thomas and wife Tira, and Emily Wade and husband Kelby; sister Sue Winburn; and niece Lynn Hentges and husband Tom, and children Danny Hentges and wife Shelly, and Lee Hentges.

If desiring, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
