Mary Anne Wells, age 83, of Piedmont, Missouri passed away Wednesday, January 21st, 2026 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, MO. She was born in St. Louis, MO on April 20, 1942, a daughter of Wade and Muriel (Phelps) Hunter.
Mary worked for many years at Brown Shoe Company and was a big St. Louis Cardinals fan. She was a member of Victory Baptist Temple in Piedmont. She loved her church and her church family and had been a faithful member for over 40 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Wade and Muriel Hunter, 1 daughter, Carol Wells and 2 brothers, Kenneth Hunter and Larry Hunter.
Survivors include 5 children, Timothy Wells and his wife Anita, of Springfield, MO, Michael Wells and his wife Rhonda, of Oklahoma, Jeanette Wells, of St. Louis, Dina Wells and her husband Kenneth Wilson, of Sierra Vista, AZ, Valerie Keller and her husband David, of Poplar Bluff; 3 sisters, Marilyn McKinney, Marsha Smith, and Melissa Chappell.
Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, along with many other family and friends.
Visitation was held at 12:00 PM Friday, January 23, 2026, at the Morrison Funeral Chapel in Piedmont. Funeral services followed at 1:00 PM Friday at the funeral home chapel with Bro. Jeff Parker officiating. Bro. Jeff Parker and Sara Edgy provided special music. Recorded songs were also played for the service. Dustin Wells, Cameron Serrano, Bill McKinney, Tim Wells, Dusty Beagle, and Barry McKinney served as Pall Bearers. Interment was in the Hunter Cemetery near Patterson.
