Matthew “Matt” W. Cagle, 37, Cloquet, died peacefully on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 in Essentia St. Mary’s, Duluth following many medical struggles. He never let his struggles define his path and fought to the finish. Matt was born on February 11, 1988 in Grand Rapids to John and Camille (Oquist) Cagle. He graduated from Wrenshall High School in 2006 and later attended Lake Superior College for auto body and truck driving. He held several jobs through the years at Cirrus, Altec, Spee-Dee and was currently working at MSOP in Moose Lake. Matt had several hobbies that always involved anything with wheels. He liked dirt bikes, snowmobiles, and classic cars. He absolutely loved spending time with his amazing friends and family. Matt was a special man that loved BIG and was always there to lend a helping hand. He cared deeply for his family and friends and will be remembered for the impact he made on so many lives.
Matt was preceded in death by his dad: John Cagle; grandparents on both sides: Donald and Grace Oquist and William and Marian Cagle; and his uncle and aunt: Donnie and Jane Oquist.
He will be lovingly remembered by his mom: Camille Cagle; brother: Scott Cagle; sister: Emily Mcdonell (Al); niece: Greta “Ben” Chambers; aunts and uncles: Eric (Nancy) Oquist; Adrian Oquist, Kevin (Barb) Oquist, Jane (Terry) Cagle-Kemp, Jim (Trudy) Cagle, Pete (Joyce) Cagle, Mary Cagle (Dirk); and many special cousins and friends.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 10 am until the 11 am Memorial Service on Saturday, July 19, 2025 in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake.
