Mattie Belle Chappelear

Mrs. Mattie Belle Corn Chappelear, age 82 of Roswell, GA, formerly of Blairsville, GA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 following an extended illness.  Mrs. Chappelear was born on September 23, 1942, in Blairsville, GA, the daughter of the late John C. Corn and the late Della Mae Cavendar Corn.  She was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister.  Mattie was a preceded in death by her parents, her husband Doyle Wayne Chappelear, sisters; Ruby Hooper, Georgia Hooper, and brothers; Johnny Corn, Roy Corn, Buell Corn, and Robert Corn.  Mrs. Chappelear was of the Baptist faith.

   Surviving Mrs. Chappelear are one son, Gary (Debbie) Chappelear of Woodstock, GA, one daughter, Myra Brumbelow of Roswell, GA, one sister, Althea Pickelsimer of Blairsville, GA, one brother, Bill (Betty) Corn of Blue Ridge, GA, one sister-in-law, Carolyn Corn of Blairsville, GA, four grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.  Many other relatives and friends also survive.

   Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 3:00 pm at the Mountain View Chapel with Rev. Larry Truelove officiating.  Interment will follow in the Meadow View Cemetery.  The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Kenny Duckworth, David Corn, Austin Chappelear, Jonathan Rider, Jonathan Poole,  and Jak Smith

The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Friday, August 8, 2025, from 6-8:00 pm.
