Mike was always someone you could count on to help you out, lend you a word of advice, or just be a friend to talk to.
As he goes to be with our lord & savior, Jesus Christ, he will truly be missed here on Earth.
Your family will be in my prayers.

Mike was a great man for the bad times we face, and the world does feel a liitle more empty at Mike's passing. Still trying to make sense of it but O am at a loss. My condolenses to family and friends as he was always smiling, pleasant, and a stand up guy.

Michael's Obituary

Michael Lee Blackwelder, 55, of Chestnut St, died Saturday, June 8 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem after a brief illness. A private memorial service will be held, however, the family will receive friends at the home of his sister, Julie, at 111 Chestnut Street, Lexington. Mr. Blackwelder was born February 10, 1964 in Davidson County to Joe Reid Blackwelder and Sandra Cox Blackwelder. He was a 1982 graduate of Lexington High School and attended Sandhills Community College. He was the owner and operator of Cox Imports for many years, and later worked as a realtor. His father preceded him in death. He is survived by his mother of Lexington; his sister, Julie Huneycutt and husband, David, of Lexington; and his nieces, Lauren and Rachel Huneycutt. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to First Baptist Church, PO Box 436, Lexington NC 27293 or the Humane Society of Davidson County, PO Box 1791, Lexington NC 27293
