Michael L. Brown

On August 20th at the age of 65, Michael “Mike” Brown left us suddenly—leaving behind a legacy five decades of helping, guiding, and caring for others on their journeys into grief and the unknown.

Michael was, in every sense, a people person. He loved them all—family, friends, strangers on a dock, passengers on a flight, or employees who quickly became confidants. He believed in seeing people, really seeing them, and left many people better for it. 

His sense of humor, sharp wit, and ability to make you feel like the only person in the room will be missed almost as much as his infamous ability to tell stories that were always fun and mostly true.

An adventurer at heart, Mike was a pilot, sailor, skier, diver, a musician, singer, Christian and all-around good fellow who found joy in both the horizon ahead and the people standing beside him. 

His three children—JJ, Ben, and Katie—were his crew, and he carried their love as his truest badge of honor. 

They, along with his many friends, colleagues, employees, and the countless people he touched, now carry forward his spirit of generosity, mischief, and adventure.

Join us as we bid Mike farewell with music, stories, refreshments and love on Sunday November 23, 2025 from 2pm to 5pm.
