Michael's Obituary

Michael W. Hamor, 65, of Grinnell, died Saturday, October 19, 2024, at UnityPoint-Grinnell.

 

A Graveside Service will be held Friday, November 15, 2024, at 11:00am at Westfield Cemetery. A visitation will be held Thursday, November 14, 2024, from 5:00 - 7:00 pm, at Cox-Smith Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed PALS and sent in care of Cox-Smith Funeral and Cremation Service, PO Box 163, Grinnell, Iowa 50112.

 

Mike was born on June 28, 1959, in Grinnell to Paul and Darlene (Onthank) Hamor. He graduated from Grinnell High School with the class of ’77. He then went to Hawkeye Tech to further his education.

 

Mike was an animal lover, he had a soft spot for dogs. He enjoyed fishing, boating and swimming. Bowling was a pastime. Mike enjoyed the gravel rides, and going for ice cream. He enjoyed his time with family, may the memories live on.

 

He will be missed by his sons, Matthew Hamor of Grinnell and Andrew Hamor; brother, Robert (René) Hamor of Harlan, Iowa; sister Linda Duncan of Ralston, Nebraska; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

Mike was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Tonya Hamor; his brother, Larry Hamor; and nephew, Larry Hamor Jr.
