Michael Hernandez, 92, of Quartz Hill, California, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Michael was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Annie Cano Hernandez, with whom he shared 68 years of marriage, and by his son, Jimmy. He is survived by his loving children, Michael and Lisa.Michael was born on May 8, 1933, at White Memorial Hospital in California to Julian and Santos Hernandez. He was raised as part of a large and close-knit family, growing up with twelve siblings, with an experience that shaped his deep appreciation for family, hard work, and togetherness. Michael proudly served his country in the United States Armed Forces and was honorably discharged. Following his service, he dedicated his life to honest work and providing for his family. His primary line of work was pool plumbing, though his skills extended far beyond that. He was known for building walls, working with cement, adding rooms to homes, plumbing houses, and planting trees and cacti. He also took great pride in his gardening, carefully tending to his plants and finding joy and peace in watching them grow. A devoted husband, Michael was married to the love of his life, Annie Cano Hernandez, for 68 years. Together, they built a strong and enduring family. He was a loving father to his children; Michael, Elizabeth (Lisa), and Jimmy, and a cherished grandfather to eight grandchildren, as well as a proud great-grandfather to nineteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Michael especially treasured time spent with his grandchildren. He enjoyed teaching them how to ride bikes, play softball, and understand the value of hard work and family. His guidance, patience, and steady presence left a lasting impression on all who knew him.He will be deeply missed for his laughter, his love of family gatherings, his enjoyment of Mexican music, and of course, his fondness for cowboys. Michael’s warmth, wisdom, and dedication to family will live on through the many lives he touched. We love you, Dad, Pops, and Grandpa. You will always remain in our hearts and prayers.
