Mr. Michael Richard Hill, age 84, of Blairsville, peacefully passed away at his home with his devoted wife by his side on Monday, March 23, 2026, following an extended illness. He was born on May 22, 1941, in Sumter, South Carolina, to the late Joseph Harry Hill and the late Dixie Lee Stickland Hill. Michael graduated from Newberry College in Newberry, South Carolina, earning a degree in Psychology. Michael was a passionate outdoor sportsman who found joy in activities such as hunting, fishing, camping, skeet shooting, dirt bike riding, parachute jumping, and flying airplanes. He cherished spending time outdoors and valued moments at home shared with his family and friends. Michael will be remembered as a loving and caring husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Daniel Harry Hill. He was also a member of Coosa Methodist Church. Michael is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of fifty years, Linda MacRostie Hill of Blairsville; two daughters, Amy Kathleen and Jason Swickard of Deputy, Indiana, and Ehren Leigh Hill and David McCaffrey of Burr Ridge, Illinois; one sister, Meridith Aileen Hill; three grandchildren, Olivia and Sam Owen, Donna Jo Swickard, and Ashlee Swickard; one great granddaughter, Lilly Owen; and several nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date and will be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Coosa Methodist Church in Mr. Hill’s memory.
