Not sure what to say?

Sincere sympathy to Michael Joe's family on his passing, may his gentle soul rest in peace. You're in our thoughts and prayers. From Mary Jean, Pat and the Cattigan family, Currane.

To all of Mike’s children and their children, your father and grandfather was truly a fine man. I remember Mike fondly as I was growing up in the St Anthony family. Memories of the dads playing softball, cards in the basement, farm nights and his presence at the church functions always brought warm feelings and a loving greeting. He was great man who lived a full life, true leader, may his spirit watch over us

Michael J McGinty Eulogy 9.20.25

We sat down the other day with Fr. Andrew to plan dad’s Celebration of the Eucharist and he asked what seemed to be a very simple question, “Who do you say your dad is?” We all provided various responses. He was a man who was honest, had integrity, strong faith, kind, giving, disciplinarian, organized, silent leader, always trying to do what was right, a man who lived by God’s word.
I hadn’t planned to read any of the obituary guest book...

What do you say when you lose someone who was so incredibly important in your life? Honestly, I'm not sure there's anything I can say that would be remotely good enough to capture all the emotions. All I'm left with now is "Thank you".

Thank you for always being someone I could count on anytime, anywhere, for any reason.
Thank you for always being a friend to everyone with whom you crossed paths.
Thank you for being the kind of person I can only hope to become even half...

Dear Mary Jo and Ed, Gary and I were so sorry to read that your dad had passed. He was such a sweet and friendly man. Our prayers are with you love Ellen and Gary

A man of kindness. A man with a deep and abiding sense of honor and dignity. A deeply loyal friend. A man of great personal strength and perception. My world and the world of those who knew him is a smaller and colder place without him. .

We were sorry to hear of Michael’s passing. Our deepest sympathy to his children and sisters. May he Rest in the Peace of Christ?
Pat and Peggy Cooney

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

MICHAEL J.'s Obituary

MICHAEL J. McGINTY age 93. Beloved husband of the late Corrine E. (nee Malinak); father of Michael (Jane), Barbara Julian (Paul) of Fla., John (Carolyn-deceased), Mary Jo Eucker (Edward), Timothy (Mary Ellen) and Patricia Suriano (Frank); grandfather of 15, great grandfather of 24; son of the late Beatrice (nee McGinty) and Michael McGinty; brother of Patricia Lowry (Owen-deceased), Patrick Eugene (Helen) (both deceased) and Margaret Marks (John-deceased); uncle and great uncle of many. Dear friend of Joanne Jancik. U. S. Navy veteran and a proud graduate of St. Ignatius High School class of 1950 and CWRU class of 1954 and received his Master’s Degree, with Distinction from CWRU in 1973. Passed away September 15, 2025.

Upon completion of his service with the Unites States Navy, Michael and Corrine moved to Parma, Ohio in the early 1960’s and became one of the founding families of St. Anthony of Padua parish. These members worked tirelessly to grow and nurture the St. Anthony faith community. As a man of strong faith, he was privileged to be one of the original faithful to be granted as an Extraordinary Right of Eucharistic Minister by the Diocese of Cleveland. This enabled him to share the Eucharist with the shut-ins of the parish and the ill parishioners in Parma Community Hospital.

Michael was a Metallurgical Engineer for Acme Cleveland/Cleveland Twist Drill for 35 years. During this time, he also strived to make the community in which he lived a better place by becoming involved in local Parma politics serving as Precinct Committee Man, Ward Leader, and Democratic City Leader. In the mid 1970’s Mayor John Petruska appointed Michael to the Parma Community Hospital Board of Directors on which he proudly served on for the next 20 years. He remained a Director Emeritus at Parma Community General Hospital Association until his passing.

While growing his family and community, Michael was also involved with the St. Ignatius community serving in the Fathers Club and Alumni Associations.

After “retiring” from Cleveland Twist Drill, Michael continued his service to his community by serving as Director of Economic Development and Recreation Director for the City of Parma.

Michael was recognized on numerous occasions for his service receiving the following awards:

The Edward F. Meyers Outstanding Trustee Award from the Greater Cleveland Hospital Association for providing distinguished leadership and dedication in meeting the health care needs of the community.

The Gerald F. Garvey SJ Award from the St. Ignatius Loyola Alumni Association

The Past Chairman Cleveland Chapter from the American Society of Metals

Michael is often times described by others as a man of strong faith, humility, honesty, and integrity.
