Michael Ralph Newton Sr.

Michael Ralph Newton, Sr.  died peacefully in his sleep at the age of 71 on February 21, 2024 of natural causes.  

Born August 7, 1952 in Huntsville, Texas, to Marjorie (White) Newton and Ralph E. Newton, Capt. USAF.  His 41 year career with the United States Air Force included 21 years active duty, his last station being Wilford Hall, Lackland AFB.  One year later he returned to his last post and resumed his duties at Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center (formerly Wilford Hall Medical Center). He officially retired in 2019. 

He is survived by his four children:  Michael Newton, Jr. (Bo), Dana Ortega, Keith Newton and step-daughter Dan Zhao. He also has five grandsons: Anthony, Daniel, Max, Noah (Ortega) and Aaron Newton.  His older sister, Barbara Jill (Newton) Edwards lives in Northwest Arkansas (near her three children and grandchildren.

For his family and friends the laughter is gone- the world will not be the same.  But he has left us with a rich heritage of precious memories.  We will always honor his memory and his dedication, and his wild sense of humor.
