Michael Parks, Sr. was born on May 13, 1957 in Carter, MS to Beatrice Tate and Ellis Parks he was the baby of ten children.
He gave his life to Christ at an early age and joined Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.
Michael graduated from Humphrey Counties High School in Belzoni, MS and proceeded to attend at MS Valley State in Ittabena, MS where he played defense on the football team.
Michael was employed at Blackwell Chevrolet for several years and retired from Howard Wilson Chrysler Plymouth.
Michael was passionate with painting antique cars, dancing, playing basketball, sitting on the porch with family and friends.
Michael was a father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was a husband to Marva Ann Taylor for 21 years.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Beatrice and Ellis Parks, Iris Brown (sister), Helen P. Miller (sister), Marvin Parks (brother) and Shaun Phillips (son).
Michael leaves to cherish his loving memories to six sisters: Berniece Hill (John) of Chicago, IL; Gladys Luckett- Wallace (Phil) of Memphis, TN; Sherry Burton (Morris) of Kenner, LA; Evelyn Wesley (Jimmy) of Clinton, MS; Bobbie Bragg of California, LA; Barbara Smith (Jeff) of Country Club, IL; one brother: Melvin Parks (Lucresia) of St. Rose, LA; three daughters: LaJuna Parks-Hughes (Bernard) of Brandon, MS. Talvea Seawood (Eric) of Jackson, MS; Shardai Parks (Keith) of Jackson, MS; two sons: Michael Parks, Jr. (Amanda) of Jackson, MS; Michael Phillips (Tracey) of Yazoo, MS; sixteen grandchildren: Aiden Hughes, Chelcee Porter of Brandon, MS; Shalor Taylor of Denton, TX, Mikyla Parks, Tamia Parks, Matthew Chiplin, Ashton Alexander of Jackson, MS, Michael Phillips, Jr., Keyanna Williams, Naqvonne King, Naquerrius King, Javarious Grady, Shanija Johnson, Quonique Bassett, Jakiya Grady, Shaun Phillips, Jr. of Yazoo, MS. Three great-grandchildren: Naomi Bell, Bella Bell of Denton, TX, and Blessyn Chiplin of Jackson, MS and a host of other relatives and special friends.
