Not sure what to say?

My condolences. The few times I spoke to/met up with Mike, he always had a “kind ear”, listened well. Always a sence of humor.. I will always be grateful for the kindness he showed my uncle Tommy Elliott during his time at Singing Oaks Church of Christ. Sending love, hugs, and prayers to his wife Carla & family

Praying God will comfort you and your family during this difficult time. May he give you peace of heart as you go through the coming days and months.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Floyd, I was sorry to learn of your brother’s passing. May the Lord provide comfort and strength to you and your family during this time of loss.

I’m so sorry to hear of Mike’s passing. I have many fond memories as children, & as young adults at family reunions, or just a Saturday or Sunday afternoon gathering in Greenville at our grandparents house. Mike was my dad, Bill’s cousin, & my 2nd cousin, but only 2 years older than me, so we were of the same generation. I remember his big smile, & he was always so kind & sweet to me & my siblings. My condolences to Carla & the entire family. We are in Ruidoso NM for the summer,...

Offering our deepest condolences during this difficult time.

Mike has been a long time customer of 2 State Farm agencies that I have worked. I have had the pleasure of helping him & his family for many years. We actually 1st met on the football fields when our boys were in elementary school. He would always remind me. Mike will be missed. Praying for his family to find peace & take comfort in the many memories & stories that Mike left them all with. God bless & may he rest in peace.

It was through his children that I was introduced to Mike. One of the last times I saw him he hugged me and said “you are family.” That meant a lot and is a memory I will carry with me.

Michael's Obituary

Michael Lynn Rodgers passed away on June 22, 2025, in Denton, Texas. He was born on July 25, 1961, in Denton at Flow Memorial Hospital.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Rodgers Sr. and Frances Rodgers; his eldest brother, Ken Rodgers; his sister-in-law, Carol Rodgers; his niece, Amy Rodgers; his nephew, Luke Clinton; and his parents-in-law, Charles Clinton and Dorothy Clinton.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years, Carla Clinton Rodgers, and their three children: Lindsey Jonas and her husband, Hayden Jonas, of Springtown, Texas, and their children, Kingston, Keyleigh, and Kyler; Brad Rodgers and his wife, Brandi Ray, of Sarasota, Florida, and their children, Emma, Levi, and Mason; and Logan Rodgers and his wife, Chrissie Rodgers, of Round Rock, Texas, who are expecting their first child, Elliot, in November.

He is also survived by his brother, Floyd Rodgers Jr., and sister-in-law, Celia Rodgers, of Valley Mills, Texas; his sister, Sharon Stagner, and brother-in-law, Guy Stagner, of Ponder, Texas; and his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Randy and Debbie Clinton of Keller, Texas, and Kevin and Becky Clinton of San Antonio, Texas. He also leaves behind 25 nieces and nephews, and 21 great-nieces and great-nephews.

Michael graduated from Denton High School in 1979 and earned a B.B.A. from Northwood University. He worked alongside his father at Foxworth Galbraith during high school, later spending 26 years with Peterbilt Motors. He concluded his career in sales with Kent Automotive and Wurth USA.

While Mike had a career in sales, his real gift was in building relationships. He didn’t just promote products—he promoted the people behind them. Whether it was the team at Duluth Trading Company, his trusted doctors and nurses, his State Farm agent, or his fellow church greeters, Mike believed in the people he interacted with and made sure others did too. He built trust with sincerity and encouraged others to support the individuals behind the service, not just the brand.

A dedicated fan of the Dallas Mavericks, Texas Longhorns, Texas Rangers, and Dallas Cowboys, Mike never missed a chance to cheer on his teams. He was a proud foodie, with Whataburger and Texas Roadhouse topping his list of favorite spots. Time with his grandchildren was one of his greatest joys, and he never passed up an opportunity to be with them.

Mike could strike up a conversation with anyone, and within minutes, you’d know his story—and more importantly, he’d know yours. Whether welcoming someone at church, chatting about cars, or recommending his favorite pair of underwear (Duluth, if he hadn’t told you), Mike brought warmth, humor, and genuine interest to every interaction.

Michael will be remembered for his kind heart, people-first spirit, and the lasting connections he created wherever he went. His legacy lives on through his family and all those fortunate enough to have called him a friend.
